Florida Atlantic 37, Alabama-Birmingham 23: Jaquez Johnson passed for 299 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 105 yards and another score to lead the visiting Owls past the Blazers in Conference USA play.

Jay Warren rushed for the tiebreaking touchdown late in the third quarter and Florida Atlantic (2-4, 1-3 C-USA) sealed the contest on Johnson’s 5-yard scoring pass to William Dukes with 1:22 to play. The Owls rolled up 579 total yards with Jonathan Wallace (117 yards) joining Johnson in eclipsing the century mark on the ground.

Austin Brown passed for 256 yards and two touchdowns for Alabama-Birmingham (1-4, 0-1). The Blazers had just 51 rushing yards and allowed more than 30 points for the fourth time this season.

UAB trailed 23-13 at halftime and used Brown’s 29-yard pass to Jamari Staples and Ty Long’s 30-yard field goal to tie the score. Warren’s 3-yard run with 2:56 left in the third quarter put Florida Atlantic back in the lead to stay.

The Owls trailed 13-9 in the second quarter before taking the lead on Wallace’s 1-yard run with 6:35 left in the half. Florida Atlantic increased the lead to 10 on Johnson’s 3-yard scoring aerial to Nexon Dorvilus with six seconds left in the half.
