Mississippi State 62, Troy 7: Dak Prescott had a breakout performance against the visiting Trojans that included four scores as a passer, rusher and receiver in a blowout win.

Prescott threw for 233 yards, rushed for 53 and had a scoring reception of 36 yards in a solid all-around effort by the sophomore quarterback for Mississippi State (2-2). Jameon Lewis mirrored Prescott's versatility, scoring once in all three categories and he finished with 96 yards receiving.

Corey Robinson was limited to 105 yards passing and a score for Troy (2-2). Eric Thomas had the Trojans' only touchdown of the game on a 5-yard pass for a Troy team that had been averaging 44.7 points per game.

The Bulldogs' defense wasted little time jumping on the NCAA's active leader in pass attempts, completions and yards as Jamerson Love picked off Robinson's third pass attempt of the game and returned it 70 yards for a score. Mississippi State dominated in the first half, including a second-quarter stretch of 35 unanswered points that was led by Prescott's red-hot performance under center and an equally impressive showing from Lewis.

Prescott rushed for two scores, passed for one and received another in the second quarter with help from Lewis, who caught one of the scores and threw the other to his quarterback. The Trojans were held to just 186 yards of total offense and allowed 52 unanswered points after the first quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Mississippi State's 45 points at halftime is the second most in school history. ... The Bulldogs' 62 points are the most against Troy in school history. ... Prescott and Lewis are the first FBS players to rush for, throw and catch a TD in the same game since Marcus Mariota of Oregon accomplished the same feat in 2012.
