Kansas State 37, Massachusetts 7: Jake Waters threw a pair of touchdowns passes and the host Wildcats ran for two scores in a decisive non-conference victory.

After a 2-yard touchdown run by Stacey Bedell gave the Minutemen an early 7-6 lead, Kansas State responded with four touchdowns and a field goal. Waters hit John Hubert for a 43-yard score before halftime and found Glenn Gronkowski from 50 yards just over five minutes into the second half for the Wildcats (2-1), who rushed for 329 yards.

Waters finished 5-of-10 for 115 yards and one interception and ran for 74 yards on nine carries. Daniel Sams and Robert Rose each ran for a touchdown for Kansas State, which took an early 6-0 lead behind a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown by Kip Daily.

Starting his first game this season, A.J. Doyle was 21-of-31 for 186 yards and ran for 37 yards for Massachusetts (0-3), which has lost all three meetings with the Wildcats. Tajae Sharpe had another strong day with nine catches for 98 yards, and Bedell finished with 81 yards on 23 carries.

Daily finished with two interceptions and Jack Cantele booted a 42-yard field goal for Kansas State, which starts Big 12 play next week at Texas. Hubert did not score but led the Wildcats with 118 yards rushing and 50 yards receiving.
