Indiana 73, Indiana State 35: Shane Wynn scored three touchdowns - including one on the first punt return of his career - as the host Hoosiers rolled up 42 points in the first 19 minutes en route to their second-highest output and most in 112 years.

Sophomore quarterbacks Tre Roberson and Nate Sudfeld threw two touchdown passes apiece on their first 10 combined attempts with Ted Bolser catching two of them as Indiana improved to 11-1 in its last 12 home openers. Tevin Coleman rushed for 169 yards and two scores while Sudfeld finished with four TD throws.

Bolser, who extended his school record for touchdown receptions by a tight end to 11, opened the scoring with a 12-yard catch. Roberson's second TD pass was a 43-yarder to Wynn which gave Indiana the lead for good 14-7 in the first quarter and Wynn's 58-yard punt return made it 35-7 with 13:15 left until halftime.

Sudfeld took over from Roberson to start the second quarter and his first pass resulted in a 9-yard touchdown to Bolser. Sudfeld's second attempt was a 44-yard TD throw to Nick Stoner to give the Hoosiers a 42-7 lead with 11 minutes left in the second quarter as Indiana's first five touchdown drives averaged 49 seconds.

Sudfeld finished 12-of-17 for 219 yards with an interception. Indiana State's Shakir Bell, who is on the Walter Payton Award watch list as the top FCS running back for the third straight season and finished second in last year's voting, rushed for 113 yards before leaving with an injury in the second quarter.
