No. 12 Oklahoma 50, West Virginia 49: Landry Jones' sixth touchdown pass, a 5-yarder to Kenny Stills on fourth down with 24 seconds to play, lifted the visiting Sooners to the wild shootout victory.
Jones broke his own school record with 554 yards and connected on four scoring passes to Stills to give Oklahoma (8-2, 6-1 Big 12) its third consecutive win and send West Virginia (5-5, 2-5) to its first five-game losing streak since 1986.
Tavon Austin, moved from wide receiver to running back to jump-start the Mountaineers' running game, had a spectacular performance with a school-record 344 yards rushing and two touchdowns and four catches for 82 yards. He also set Big 12 and school records with 572 all-purpose yards.
The Sooners survived a stirring comeback by the Mountaineers, who erased a 14-point third-quarter deficit behind Geno Smith. Smith threw for 320 yards and four touchdown passes to standout wide receiver Stedman Bailey - the last giving West Virginia a 49-44 lead with 2:53 to play.
Bailey had 13 catches for 205 yards in his second consecutive 200-yard game as West Virginia amassed 778 yards in total offense. Jalen Saunders had seven receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown for the Sooners, who rolled up 662 yards.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Jones became the third quarterback in FBS history to amass four seasons with at least 3,000 passing yards, joining Timmy Chang of Hawaii and Kellen Moore of Boise State. ... Austin became the first Mountaineer to score a touchdown four different ways (receiving, rushing, kick and punt return) in one season....
