Tulsa 41, Houston 7: Alex Singleton and Cody Green rushed for two touchdowns apiece and the visiting Golden Hurricane remained unbeaten in league play.
Singleton had 16 carries for 79 yards while setting the single-season school record for touchdowns with 18. Tulsa (8-2, 6-0 Conference USA) led 17-0 after Singleton’s 1-yard run capped a 17-play, 90-yard drive with 24 seconds left in the second quarter.
Tulsa outrushed the Cougars 350-78 and dominated the time of possession battle by nearly 16 minutes. Houston (4-6, 3-3) avoided its first shutout since 2000 on Crawford Jones’ 16-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Jackson with 7:08 remaining in the game.
Green completed 17 of 31 passes for 130 yards and added 31 yards rushing for the Golden Hurricane, who avenged a 48-16 loss to Houston last season.
Tulsa forced four Houston turnovers, including two David Piland interceptions. The Golden Hurricane have won 17 of their last 18 games in Conference USA play, including eight straight on the road.
