Texas 66, Ole Miss 31: David Ash threw for 326 yards and four touchdowns as the No. 12 Longhorns improved to 3-0 for the sixth straight year.

Linebacker Steve Edmond returned an interception 22 yards for a touchdown to jumpstart visiting Texas, which dealt new Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze his first loss in three games.

The Longhorns led 31-10 after a first half in which Ash hit 10 of 11 throws and Olympian Marquise Goodwin ripped off a 69-yard scoring run. Malcolm Brown finished with 128 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries.

Rebels quarterback Bo Wallace, who came in completing 77 percent of his throws, struggled mightily before being relieved by Barry Brunetti. Wallace completed 13 of 24 throws for 178 yards and a touchdown, with three interceptions.

Ole Miss’ Jaylen Walton had a spectacular 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Texas improved to 6-0 all-time against Ole Miss; the last meeting before Saturday was in 1966. … Texas is 33-1 against unranked non-conference opponents over the past nine years.
