Jawan Jamison rushed for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Rutgers stayed alive in the Big East title hunt with a 20-3 victory over visiting Cincinnati on Saturday.

Chas Dodd added 173 passing yards and San San Te kicked a pair of field goals for Rutgers (8-3, 4-2 Big East), which briefly gains the lead in the Big East.

The Scarlet Knights need to beat Connecticut next weekend and have West Virginia and Louisville lose at least once more to win the conference outright.
Cincinnati (7-3, 3-2) is still in the hunt as well but will need to beat Syracuse and Connecticut over the next two weeks and get some help.

All eight Big East teams could be bowl eligible.

The Bearcats came in with the 15th-ranked offense in the country but were breaking in a new quarterback in sophomore Munchie Legaux after senior Zach Collaros was injured in a loss to West Virginia last weekend. The offense could get nothing going with Legaux under center, totaling 225 yards in the contest.

Legaux completed just 12 of 31 passes, threw an interception and lost a fumble in his first start.

The Scarlet Knights turned that fumble into points in the first quarter, when Jamison rushed in from 12 yards out two plays later. Jamison would add a 1-yard touchdown burst in the third quarter and Rutgers controlled the pace by handing it to the sophomore tailback 34 times.
