Quarterback James Franklin's second rushing touchdown - a 9-yard run with 2:22 left - lifted Missouri to a come-from-behind 31-27 victory over Texas Tech on Saturday.

Missouri (6-5, 4-4 Big 12) became bowl-eligible for the seventh consecutive season and improved to 4-0 all-time at home against the Red Raiders.

The Tigers played without coach Gary Pinkel, who was suspended for a week and fined after being arrested on drunk driving charges Wednesday. Coordinators Dave Steckel and David Yost filled in.

After Franklin put Missouri ahead, the Red Raiders drove deep into Tigers territory before they stalled at the 6 when Seth Doege’s second-down pass was deflected and intercepted by Michael Sam with 30 seconds left.

Doege threw for 315 yards and a touchdown as the Red Raiders (5-6, 2-6 Big 12) lost their fourth straight game and will need to win next week against Baylor to secure a bowl bid.

Franklin finished with 172 passing yards and two touchdowns, and a game-high 152 on the ground.

Texas Tech, which had been outscored 159-33 in its previous three games, jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on a pair of rushing touchdowns by Bradley Marquez and Doege.

Missouri pulled within 17-10 at the half and closed the gap to 27-24 early in the fourth quarter before Franklin’s game-winning score.
