Curtis McNeal rushed for a career-high 148 yards and one touchdown as Southern California’s prolific offense kept rolling in a 40-17 win over visiting Washington on Saturday.

Marqise Lee scored two touchdowns for Southern California (8-2, 5-2 Pac-12 South), which outgained Washington 426-244 in total yards and avoided a third consecutive loss to the Huskies (6-4, 4-3 Pac-12 North).

The teams combined for 21 points in the first 2:15 of the third quarter, but the Huskies couldn’t keep pace with Southern California, which has won five of its last six games.
Trojans quarterback Matt Barkley passed for one touchdown and rushed for another, but he had just 174 yards passing as the Trojans relied on their run game.

Washington quarterback Keith Price was replaced in the third quarter by Nick Montana after injuring his left knee.

Southern California’s defense had seven sacks and produced the team’s first safety since 2006. Huskies running back Chris Polk, who entered the game ranked seventh in the nation in rushing, had just 36 yards and one touchdown on nine carries.
