Recap

Aaron Murray threw three touchdowns passes and visiting Georgia held off Vanderbilt 33-28 on Saturday in a wild finish.

Blair Walsh drilled four field goals for Georgia (5-2, 4-1 SEC East), which has won five straight and remains tied for the SEC East lead.

It was 26-21 Georgia early in the fourth when Murray found Marlon Brown wide open down the sideline for a 75-yard touchdown.

Vanderbilt quarterback Jordan Rodgers, the younger brother of Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers, answered by leading an 84-yard touchdown drive, capped by Zac Stacy's 19-yard run to make it 33-28.

The Bulldogs appeared to prevail when safety Bacarri Rambo intercepted Rodgers with 1:10 to go, but Vanderbilt blocked a punt with 7 seconds left and had two chances to win from the Georgia 25. Rodgers' first pass fell incomplete in the end zone; his second was completed well short of the goal line.

The teams had to be separated after the emotional contest.

Georgia showed impressive depth in overcoming the absence of leading receiver Malcolm Mitchell, who was out with a pulled hamstring. Brown caught two touchdown throws, Tavarres King one. The Bulldogs have won 16 of their last 17 meetings with Vanderbilt.

Stacy also threw for a 43-yard score on a trick play for the Commodores (3-3, 1-3 SEC East).

Rodgers finished 4-of-19 passing for 47 yards.
