E.J. Manuel passed for two touchdowns and rushed for two more as Florida State snapped a three-game losing streak by coasting to a 41-16 victory at Duke on Saturday afternoon.

The Seminoles (3-3, 1-2 ACC) took control midway through the first quarter with quick back-to-back touchdowns. Manuel scored on a 1-yard quarterback keeper with 7:50 remaining in the period and then hit Rodney Smith with a 50-yard scoring pass at the 3:01 mark to give the visitors a 17-3 edge. The two touchdown drives covered a combined 124 yards in just 123 seconds.

Florida State's lead grew as large as 34-3 on Manuel's 3-yard pass to Nick O'Leary with 8:26 left in the third period before the Blue Devils (3-3, 1-1) opened the fourth with two quick scores.

Manuel, who had missed at least part of each of the Seminoles' three losses with an injured shoulder, finished the day 9-of-14 passing for 239 yards and two touchdowns. He completed three passes of 50 yards or more during the first quarter alone. Devonta Freeman rushed for 109 yards on 19 carries.

Duke turned the ball over twice in the first half and failed a fourth-down conversion near midfield after recovering an onside kick to open the third quarter. Those miscues led to 13 Florida State points.
