Recap: Washington 24, UCLA 7

Washington quarterback Jake Locker ran for a touchdown in his final home game and the Huskies defense shut down UCLA 24-7 in a Pac-10 game at Seattle on Thursday night.

Chris Polk rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries as Washington (4-6, 3-4 Pac 10) snapped a three-game losing streak.

UCLA (4-6, 3-4) scored first on a 31-yard run by Johnathan Franklin, but the Huskies’ defense shut out the Bruins the rest of the way.

Washington tied the game in the second quarter when Locker scored from three yards out. The Huskies took a 10-7 lead on their first possession of the third quarter when Erik Folk booted a 27-yard field goal.

Then poor play by several UCLA quarterbacks took over. UCLA starter Richard Brehaut left the game after sustaining a hit to the head. Darius Bell replaced Brehaut and threw a crucial interception in the fourth quarter that Quinton Richardson returned 38 yards for a touchdown with just over six minutes to play.
Clayton Tunney replaced Bell on the next series and also was intercepted, setting up a 2-yard score by Polk.

Both teams need to win their final two games to become bowl eligible.
