UTEP (6-5, 3-4 Conference USA) actually led for a while, 7-0 and 14-7, but the Arkansas offense just became too much to keep up with in the second quarter. Mallett added touchdown passes of 32 yards and 15 yards in the second to send Arkansas into the break up, 35-14.
He added two more scoring passes in the third before taking the rest of the night off.
Leilyon Myers rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown for the Miners, who became bowl eligible with a win last week.
