Oregon State came up an empty on a two-point conversion attempt in the second overtime period to give Washington a 35-34 victory in the Pac-10 Conference on Saturday night.
Jacquizz Rodgers scored his fourth touchdown of the game to get the Beavers to within a point. Oregon State elected to go for the two-point conversion and the win, but Ryan Katz’s pass to Joe Halahuni fell incomplete in the end zone.
Jake Locker finished with five touchdown passes for the Huskies, four of them to Jermaine Kearse, who caught two scoring passes in the overtime sessions and finished with 146 yards on nine receptions.
Rodgers also scored twice in overtime. He had 140 yards on 32 carries and three scores on the ground.
Washington (3-3, 2-1 Pac-10) led 21-0, but Oregon State scored the final 21 points of regulation.
Locker, who finished with 286 yards on 21-for-35 passing, connected with Kearse on scoring passes of 16 and 45 yards, sandwiched around a 4-yard hook up with D’Andre Goodwin in the first half.
Oregon State (3-3, 2-1) played without receiver James Rodgers, who suffered a season-ending knee injury last week. He was among the nation’s leaders in all-purpose yardage.
