Recap

Michigan 87, Kansas 85 (OT): Mitch McGary scored a season-high 25 points and matched his season-best with 14 rebounds as the fourth-seeded Wolverines rallied from a 14-point deficit with just under seven minutes remaining in regulation to win the NCAA Tournament South Region semifinal in Arlington, Texas.

Trey Burke scored all 23 of his points in the second half and overtime, including a score-tying 3-pointer with five seconds remaining in regulation, and dished out 10 assists for Michigan (29-7), which will play third-seeded Florida on Sunday. Glenn Robinson III contributed 13 points, Nik Stauskas had 11 and Tim Hardaway, Jr. 10 for the Wolverines, who were playing in their first Sweet 16 since 1994.

Michigan scored six straight points in overtime to take an 87-82 lead with 1:04 left. Johnson sank a 3-pointer with 45 seconds remaining to cut the lead to two and the Jayhawks had a shot for the win but Naadir Tharpe’s 3-point attempt was off the mark as time expired.

The Wolverines went down by 14 points on a 3-pointer by Johnson with 6:51 left in regulation but they didn’t fade, instead outscoring Kansas 22-8 down the stretch. Burke’s 3-pointer with five seconds left in regulation tied the score and sent the game into overtime.
