No. 16 Gonzaga 81, Davidson 67: Elias Harris recorded 24 points and 10 rebounds as the Bulldogs pulled away late to capture the championship game of the Old Spice Classic at Lake Buena Vista, Fla. for the second time.

Kevin Pangos added 23 points, including four of his five 3-pointers during a 13-6 run that turned a tie game into a 64-57 lead for Gonzaga (6-0). Harris scored eight more points down the stretch to seal it for the Bulldogs, who also won the tournament in 2008.

Nik Cochran had 17 points, Jake Cohen chipped in with 13 and foul-plagued leading scorer De’Mon Brooks added 12 for Davidson (3-3), which shot 36.2 percent from the field.

Kelly Olynyk pitched in with 14 points for Gonzaga, which shot 55.1 percent from the field. Harris made 9 of his 11 shots from the field.

Davidson took a nine-point lead early and had an 18-15 advantage until Gonzaga scored 15 straight points – nine from Harris. The senior from Germany, who was named the tournament MVP, had 11 points in the opening 20 minutes and the Bulldogs settled for a 33-24 halftime lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: JP Kuhlman, Davidson’s second-leading scorer, was back in the lineup after missing two games with an ankle injury and scored four points in 22 minutes. … Davidson beat Gonzaga in the opening round of the 2008 NCAA tournament 82-76 and the Bulldogs responded with a 103-91 victory in December 2009. … Kyle Dranginis came off the bench to dish out five assists in 12 minutes for Gonzaga.
