Zeller had 19 points, including six during a crucial first-half run,
as the visiting Hoosiers routed their in-state rival Boilermakers.
All five starters scored in
double figures for the Hoosiers (19-2, 7-1 Big Ten), who shot 48 percent from 3-point
range and were 19-of-20 from the free-throw line. Christian Watford
and Victor Oladipo each had 17 points, with Watford hitting four
3-pointers.
Hammons had a career-high 30
points to lead Purdue (11-10, 4-4), while Ronnie Johnson added 13.
Indiana had
its lead cut to 34-25 with 4:43 to play in the first half on A.J.
Hammons' dunk, but the Hoosiers went on a 14-0 run over the next 4:07
to push their advantage to 22 just before the half.
Indiana entered the game 28th in the country with an average of 15.3 assists, but had 21 led by Will Sheehey's seven.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Terone Johnson, the Boilermakers'
leading scorer, matched his season low with four
points on 2-for-6 shooting. … The 37-point margin of victory was
the largest for a Purdue opponent this season. … Indiana turns
its attention to No. 1 Michigan, which visits Bloomington on Saturday
night. Purdue hits the road to face Northwestern on Saturday.
