California 85, Prairie View A&M 53: Allen Crabbe scored 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting and the host Bears scored a season-high 47 points in the first half before cruising to the easy victory.
Richard Solomon had a career-high 18 points along with nine rebounds for California (8-3), which shot 50 percent and outrebounded the Panthers 40-21. Justin Cobbs added 14 points and three steals.
Bay Area native Jourdan DeMuynck paced Prairie View A&M (5-7) with 11 points and Ryan Gesiakowski and Demondre Chapman added eight apiece. The Panthers trailed 47-34 at halftime and were outscored 38-19 in the second half.
California was never threatened in the second half and led by 23 after Jeff Powers hit a 3-pointer with nine minutes to play. The Bears have won two straight since losing three in a row to Wisconsin, UNLV and Creighton.
Crabbe hit three 3-pointers and grabbed seven rebounds for California, which held Prairie View A&M to 35.1 percent shooting. The Panthers opened their West Coast swing with a 95-53 loss at UCLA last Saturday.
