Georgia Tech 79, Tulane 61: Kammeon Holsey scored 18 points off the bench as the host Yellow Jackets won in their first game in new McCamish Pavilion.
The Yellow Jackets (1-0) played their first game in their new campus arena after two seasons of playing off-campus. Leading by six with 16:27 to go, Georgia Tech used a 20-9 run to take a 64-47 advantage on Marcus Georges-Hunt’s layup with 7:17 remaining.
Georgia Tech busted out to a 20-10 first-half lead on Chris Bolden’s jumper with 11:06 left. Georgia Tech led by as many as 13 in the first half and held a 39-30 advantage at the break behind 14 points from Georges-Hunt.
Daniel Miller finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds while Bolden added 12 points for Georgia Tech.
Josh Davis led the Green Wave (0-1) with a career-high 27 points, hitting 12 of 15 shots from the field. Ricky Tarrant added 18 points for Tulane.
