Oregon State 101, Texas Christian 81: Jared Cunningham scored 27 points and host Oregon State tied its season-high point total to advance to semifinals of the College Basketball Invitational.
The Beavers advance to the CBI semifinals on Wednesday, when they will host Washington State.
Oregon State (21-14) shot 68.8 percent from the field in the first half and led 53-34 at halftime. Devon Collier had 22 points and Angus Brandt added 19 for the Beavers, who shot 65 percent overall.
The Horned Frogs (18-15) cut the lead to 15 with 11:35 to play, but they weren’t able to keep pace with Oregon State’s offense, which entered the game ranked as one of the nation’s top scoring teams.
Garlon Green scored 21 points and Kyan Anderson had 16 for Texas Christian, which was outscored in the paint 58-42. J.R. Cadot added 15 points and eight rebounds.
The Horned Frogs shot 41.9 percent from the field, including 8 of 30 (26.7 percent) from beyond the arc, while Oregon State made seven of its 13 attempts from 3-point range.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Texas Christian coach Jim Christian did not attend the game because of a family medical emergency, leaving assistant coach Bill Wuczynski in charge … Oregon State scored at least 50 points in a half for the ninth time … Eric Moreland grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for the Beavers ... Texas Christian's top scorer Hank Thorns was 3-of-13 shooting for 11 points ... The Beavers scored 101 points against Portland State and Stanford earlier this season.
