Recap

Warriors 125, Trail Blazers 98: Stephen Curry hit seven 3-pointers en route to 39 points and Carl Landry had a double-double off the bench as Golden State easily dispatched of visiting Portland.

Landry finished with a season-high 25 points on 9-of-10 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds while David Lee scored 13 for the Warriors, who pushed their lead over the Houston Rockets in the race for the No. 6 spot in the Western Conference to 1 1/2 games.

Meyers Leonard started in place of an injured LaMarcus Aldridge and collected 22 points and 10 rebounds but could not stop the Trail Blazers from suffering their fourth straight loss. Portland sits 4 1/2 games behind the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers, who are tied for the No. 8 spot in the West.

Curry hit three 3-pointers during a 23-9 burst closing the first quarter that put Golden State on top for good.

Landry scored the Warriors’ first seven points of the second as part of an 11-3 surge that stretched the lead to 47-34. The Blazers crept back to within six points but two baskets in the final minute of the stanza gave Golden State a 65-55 cushion at the break.

The lead swelled to 90-70 after five quick points by Curry late in the third before the Warriors settled to a 96-78 gap heading into the final period.

Curry scored 10 more points early in the fourth, capped off by a deep 3-pointer in transition that pushed the lead to 110-87 and forced Portland to call a timeout with 6:54 left. One more jumper from Landry off Curry’s assist and the Warriors emptied the bench.
