Tony Allen added 17 points and Jerryd Bayless had 14 off the bench for the Grizzlies, who avoided a three-game losing streak.

Stephen Curry exploded for 32 points and David Lee had 26 as the Warriors fell to 0-3 on their current four-game road trip. Jarrett Jack (shoulder) missed his second straight game.

Back-to-back 3-pointers from Curry gave Golden State an 86-83 edge with 8:10 left in the game. But the Warriors missed their next five shots as Memphis jumped back on top, grabbing the lead for good on Mike Conley’s 3-pointer with 6:05 to play.

The Grizzlies led by as much as 49-35 in the second quarter after back-to-back 3-pointers from Bayless, before the Warriors recovered to cut it to 63-56 at the break. Curry and Klay Thompson each hit a 3-pointer during an 11-2 burst to start the third quarter that gave Golden State a brief lead.

It went back and forth for much of the third until Prince’s short jumper gave Memphis a 77-76 edge heading into the final frame.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Warriors will close out their road trip at the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday. … Golden State did not have a player other than Curry and Lee reach double figures in scoring. … The Warriors will likely be without C Andrew Bogut (ankle) on Saturday. The team has been keeping Bogut out of the second night of back-to-back games while he works his way into shape. … Bayless is averaging 18.4 points in five games since Rudy Gay was traded, up from his season average of seven points.
