Recap
Nuggets 113, Hornets 98: Andre Iguodala scored 24 points as host Denver defeated New Orleans for its sixth consecutive win.
Iguodala went 10-of-14 from the field while adding six rebounds and four assists as the Nuggets improved to 20-3 at the Pepsi Center. Ty Lawson added 21 points and 13 assists while Danilo Gallinari poured in 18 points.
Ryan Anderson scored 21 points in a reserve role to pace the Hornets, who shot 52.8 percent from the field but committed 22 turnovers leading to 32 Denver points. Anthony Davis, Robin Lopez and Greivis Vasquez added 13 points apiece.
Corey Brewer's 13 first-half points and a lengthy late scoring drought by the Hornets led to Denver going into the break with a 51-48 advantage. Iguodala helped expand the lead in the third quarter - scoring 12 of Denver's first 14 points - and Lawson punctuated things with a miracle shot from near half-court as the Nuggets entered the fourth ahead 85-78.
New Orleans went cold from there, going nearly four minutes before scoring a point as the deficit grew to 11. Iguodala buried a 3-pointer with 4:31 remaining after the Hornets had closed to within single digits, and Gallinari followed with a layup as Denver cruised to the finish.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Davis added 10 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the season. The reigning No. 1 pick also had three blocks. ... Denver committed just nine turnovers leading to seven Hornets points. ... Vasquez finished with nine assists and is averaging 11.4 over his last eight games.
