Recap

Grizzlies 85, Wizards 76: New addition Tayshaun Prince scored eight of his 14 points in the fourth quarter to help host Memphis earn its first win since trading leading scorer Rudy Gay.

Mike Conley scored a team-high 18 points and Marc Gasol added 13 points and 15 rebounds as the Grizzlies bounced back from a lackluster effort in Thursday's 17-point loss at Oklahoma City.

Nene was the only player in double figures with 14 points for Washington, which tumbled to its third straight defeat and suffered its eighth consecutive loss in Memphis.

With Prince, Ed Davis and Austin Daye - all acquired in the three-team trade involving Gay - making their debuts, the Grizzlies fizzled offensively in the early going but relied on its league-best defense, limiting the Wizards to 26 points in the middle two quarters.

Memphis led by four points with just over four minutes to play before Prince hit back-to-back baskets to cap a 6-0 spurt and push the lead to 82-72 with only 70 seconds to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wizards PG John Wall suffered a strained left shoulder in the second quarter but was back in the lineup to open the second half. ... Grizzlies F Zach Randolph scored only seven points but grabbed 11 rebounds to help Memphis control the backboards, 46-31. ... Washington rookie G Bradley Beal sat out his second straight game with a wrist injury.
