Pistons 103, Celtics 88: Andre Drummond scored 16 points off the bench to lead six Pistons in double figures as host Detroit recovered after squandering a big first-half lead to send Boston to its third straight loss.
Greg Monroe had 15 points and 11 rebounds and Brandon Knight and Will Bynum also scored 15 apiece for the Pistons, who watched an 18-point lead dissolve before regaining control.
Kevin Garnett and Courtney Lee each scored 16 points to lead the Celtics, who slipped back to .500. Boston has lost four straight meetings with Detroit. Rajon Rondo dished out 15 assists and grabbed nine rebounds, but he also had nine turnovers and was limited to eight points on 4-for-16 shooting.
Boston started out ice cold, missing 11 of its first 13 shots. The Pistons built a 36-18 lead, but the Celtics pulled even at 48 before trailing 52-48 at halftime.
The Celtics couldn't consistently come up with stops, though, and resorted to fouling Drummond to try to stretch out the end of the third quarter. The move backfired, though, as the rookie went 6-for-8 from the line and helped the Pistons stretch the lead back to 81-71 entering the fourth.
