Spurs 108, Lakers 105:
Tony Parker scored 24 points and Manu Ginobili added 19 as host San Antonio held on to hand struggling Los Angeles its fifth straight loss.

Tiago Splitter had 14 points and 14 rebounds and Stephen Jackson also scored 14 points for the Spurs, who won their 11th consecutive home contest when Kobe Bryant and Earl Clark each missed game-tying 3-point attempts in the final four seconds.

Bryant scored 27 points, Metta World Peace had 23 and seven steals and Clark contributed 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Lakers, who again were without the injured Dwight Howard (shoulder), Pau Gasol (concussion) and Jordan Hill (hip).

Los Angeles recovered from a 16-point deficit with seven minutes to play. A 9-0 surge pulled the Lakers within 105-102 on Antawn Jamison’s layup with 2:56 remaining. Los Angeles was in position to force overtime, but Bryant missed with four seconds left and Clark was off the mark at the buzzer.

San Antonio led 54-45 at halftime and opened up a big lead in the third quarter. Parker’s basket with 2:54 left in the period gave the Spurs an 83-66 advantage, and San Antonio went up 101-85 with 7:05 left after Jackson hit back-to-back 3-pointers in a 26-second span.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Parker became the 54th player in NBA history to reach 5,000 career assists. His total stands at 5,005. … Los Angeles had 12 steals while forcing 19 San Antonio turnovers. … Jackson got ejected with 3:31 left after receiving his second technical foul.
