Knicks 114, Magic 106: Carmelo Anthony scored 16 of his 40 points in the fourth quarter and visiting New York handed Orlando its season-high eighth straight loss.

Anthony notched his third 40-point game of the season and willed the Knicks down the stretch by scoring 14 of their final 18 points. He forged a 95-95 tie with a long 3-pointer as the shot clock wound down with 6:45 remaining and added a pull-up jumper and a putback layup before hitting a turnaround jumper that gave New York a six-point lead with 2:17 left.

J.R. Smith added 18 points off the bench and Jason Kidd had 15, eight rebounds and seven assists. Tyson Chandler collected 14 points and 12 boards for New York, which outscored Orlando 33-17 in the fourth quarter.

Jameer Nelson and Arron Afflalo contributed 29 points apiece for Orlando, which remained winless since Glen Davis injured his left shoulder. Nikola Vucevic scored 11 points and pulled down 18 rebounds for the Magic, who shot 33 percent in the final 12 minutes.

The Knicks seemed headed to a double-digit lead in the third quarter as they held a 71-64 advantage on Ronnie Brewer's jumper with 8:04 remaining. Orlando stormed back and outscored New York by a 25-10 margin over the rest of the quarter for an 89-81 cushion heading into the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New York F Amar'e Stoudemire appeared in his third game following a lengthy recovery from left knee surgery and scored 11 points in 17 minutes. ... Anthony had a season-high six assists  ... Vucevic has 59 rebounds in his last three games for Orlando, which started the game by hitting its first six shots and 11 of its first 13 en route to an early 22-11 lead.
