Recap

Clippers 107, Lakers 102:
Chris Paul had 30 points and 13 assists while Blake Griffin scored 24 points as the host Clippers improved to 2-0 against the Lakers this season.

Willie Green added 10 points and the Clippers had a 47-36 edge on the boards while snapping a two-game losing streak and handing the Lakers their third loss in four games. The Clippers tied a franchise record with their 11th consecutive home victory, and the Lakers fell two games below .500.

Kobe Bryant topped 30 points for the 20th time this season with 38 on 15-of-25 shooting and Dwight Howard had 21 points and 15 rebounds for the Lakers, who recovered from a 19-point, final-quarter deficit to trail just 99-97. But Paul scored the last eight Clippers points over the final 67 seconds, beginning with two free throws and then draining a key basket over the defense of Bryant with 19.9 seconds left to make it a six-point game.

Paul already had a double-double at halftime with 12 points and 11 assists as the Clippers took a 61-51 lead. The Clippers led by as many as 18 in the second quarter, but the Lakers were within three early in the third period before a sustained run boosted the Clippers’ advantage to 87-71 entering the final quarter.

The Clippers led 92-73 after a 3-pointer by Lamar Odom with 10:36 to play, but the Lakers used a 16-4 surge to trim the deficit to seven with just over five minutes left. Bryant’s basket with 1:29 remaining pulled the Lakers within two.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Clippers G Jamal Crawford missed the contest with a foot injury suffered earlier in the week. … Lakers F Pau Gasol had just two points on 1-of-6 shooting in 27 minutes. … The previous time the Clippers won 11 straight home games was the 1978-79 season, when the franchise was located in San Diego.
