Indiana 99, Portland 92

Pacers 99, Trail Blazers 92: Paul George scored 22 points and host Indiana nearly squandered an 18-point lead in the fourth quarter before holding on for its seventh victory in 10 games.

Coming off a 34-point night in Chicago, George shot 7-for-15 and scored seven points during Indiana's 17-4 run over the final 5:26 of the third quarter. His biggest basket in that stretch was a 3-pointer with 4:58 remaining that started the run, which helped give the Pacers a 79-64 lead entering the fourth.

George Hill added 18 points and David West chipped in 16 as both players contributed key baskets down the stretch in the fourth quarter. Reserve Ian Mahinmi scored four of his season-high 12 points during the third-quarter run and also tied a career best by making six shots. 

Rookie Damian Lillard had another solid game as he led Portland with 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Wesley Matthews scored 11 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter, when the Trail Blazers opened with a 21-7 run that cut the deficit to 89-85 with 5 1/2 minutes remaining.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 18 points, but his jumper was Portland's last basket until J.J. Hickson's meaningless layup with 11.2 seconds left. The Trail Blazers missed six straight shots and Indiana clinched the win on West's jumper with 2:21 remaining that made it an eight-point game. 

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lillard made his first five shots but missed six of his next 10 and failed to make more than one 3-pointer for the third time in four games. ... Indiana C Roy Hibbert shot just 3-for-13 but posted his 13th straight game with at least two blocked shots. ... Portland's bench, which had 60 points in the last two games, totaled just 13 on Wednesday.
