Ramon Sessions scored 10 of his 12 points after the third quarter and Walker chipped in seven assists and eight steals for the Bobcats, who were 0-16 against the Mavericks and were blown out by 27 points in Dallas a week ago.
O.J. Mayo gave the Mavericks a quick lead with a pair of free throws in overtime, but Charlotte scored the next six points, going up 97-93 on Walker’s layup with 1:30 left. Kidd-Gilchrist and Sessions each hit two free throws in the final 19 seconds to put it away.
The Bobcats trailed 91-87 with 22 seconds left in regulation before former Mavericks center Brendan Haywood made a layup and was fouled. Haywood missed the layup, but Walker kept it alive with an offensive rebound and Sessions eventually drove for the tying basket with 2.6 seconds left, sending it to overtime.
Mayo finished with 22 points and Vince Carter scored 19 off the bench for Dallas, which has dropped back-to-back games.
