BULLS 92, PACERS 87: Joakim Noah went for 14 points and 14 rebounds and Carlos Boozer had a big game as the Chicago Bulls stayed alive in the race for the best record in the NBA.
Boozer collected 16 points and seven rebounds and Kyle Korver scored 20 points off the bench for the Bulls, who most importantly got through the game healthy.
Playing with their intended starting five for just the 15th time this season, Chicago put up 32 points in the first quarter to race out to a lead. Most of the damage was done on the inside, as Derrick Rose and Richard Hamilton struggled from the perimeter.
The Bulls shot 50 percent in the first half and never relinquished the lead in the second.
Rose, playing in his second game back from a foot injury, struggled to 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting in 27 minutes while Hamilton finished with four points on 2-of-10.
Indiana, which is locked into the No. 3 seed in the East, finished up its regular season slate by giving the starters plenty of rest. Danny Granger sat out for the second straight games while George Hill, Roy Hibbert, Paul George and David West all played less than 29 minutes.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Lance Stephenson, who started in Granger’s place, led the Pacers with 22 points. … Chicago is fighting the San Antonio Spurs for the top overall record in the NBA. San Antonio beat Phoenix 110-106 later Wednesday to keep pace. … The Bulls went 10 for 10 from the free throw line and handed out 27 assists on 38 field goals.
