SPURS 87, CELTICS 86: Gary Neal hit the go-ahead 3-point basket to help visiting San Antonio win its ninth straight game.

Danny Green scored 14 points, Neal tallied 13 and Tim Duncan had 10 points and 16 rebounds for the Spurs, who have won 12 of 13 games.

Paul Pierce missed a 17-foot fadeaway jumper at the buzzer for Boston, which had its five-game winning streak snapped.

Avery Bradley scored 19 points, Rajon Rondo had 17 points and 11 assists, Kevin Garnett scored 16 points and Pierce had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics.

Neal’s 3-pointer with 1:59 left gave San Antonio an 84-83 lead.

The Spurs won despite scoring just 28 second-half points and blowing a 17-point first-half lead.

Boston battled back tie the score at 79 on a 3-pointer by Pierce with 4:41 remaining. Bradley followed with a basket that gave the Celtics their first lead since the opening quarter.

San Antonio helped Boston’s comeback efforts by scoring just nine points in the third quarter.

The Spurs opened up their large lead with a 19-2 run in the second quarter. Matt Bonner had eight points during the surge and Duncan’s layup made it 55-38 with 4:37 left in the half.

Bonner had 10 points and 10 rebounds for San Antonio, which led 59-48 at halftime.
