SPURS 112, WIZARDS 97: Tony Parker returned to the lineup and led the way with 31 points and seven rebounds as San Antonio pulled back to even on its homestand and denied Washington’s effort to reach double figures in wins.

Tim Duncan added 14 points and nine rebounds and Tiago Splitter scored 17 for the Spurs, who have traded wins and losses through the first six games of their seven-game homestand. They will attempt to hit the road with a winning mark when they host Orlando on Wednesday.

The Wizards have not won in San Antonio since Dec. 11, 1999, a span of 12 games.

The Spurs took control early on Monday, getting nine points from Parker in the first quarter to take a 32-24 lead before stretching it to 63-49 at the half. Parker, who sat out the last game with a thigh injury, scored 10 points in a row for San Antonio in the third quarter to keep the Wizards from making a run.

Washington crept as close as 95-86 with less than seven minutes left but Parker took control again, scoring 10 of the next 13 points for the Spurs to put the game away.

JaVale McGee collected 21 points and 15 rebounds for the Wizards.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Spurs backup point guard T.J. Ford announced earlier Monday that he would be retiring from the NBA after his latest neck injury. … Washington has allowed at least 100 points in 11 of its last 12 games. … San Antonio shot 54 percent from the field.
