The Warriors were 8 of 18 on 3-pointers but were outrebounded 47-39. Memphis also had a 32-5 edge on fast-break points, including a 22-2 advantage on the break in the first half.

Gay and Speights helped the Grizzlies pull away in the third quarter and they coasted through the fourth as Golden State struggled to find its rhythm.

The Warriors were coming off their highest-scoring game of the season, a 120-100 victory over Washington. Golden State shot a season-best 65.2 percent (15 of 23) from 3-point range in that one.

After trailing by as many as 17, the Warriors went up on a nifty alley-oop play from Curry to Ellis. The Grizzlies used a 14-7 run to close out the second quarter for a 56-51 halftime lead.

Lee and Dorell Wright sat for the second quarter as Golden State coach Mark Jackson used his bench extensively.

The Warriors recalled Jeremy Tyler from the NBA Development prior to the game. He was sent down Feb. 27 and played five games with Dakota. ... Memphis is 15-2 when it hits more than a third of its 3-pointers.... The Warriors gave out Mitch Richmond bobblehead dolls to the first 10,000 fans.
