KNICKS 120, CAVALIERS 103: Steve Novak hit five 3-pointers during a six-minute stretch in the second half and the New York Knicks erased a 17-point first-half deficit to hand Cleveland its third consecutive loss.
Jeremy Lin had 19 points and 13 assists and Carmelo Anthony had 22 points, but it was Novak’s 3-point flurry that sparked the Knicks.
Novak, who finished with 17 points, connected on a trio of 3-pointers over the final 3:53 of the third quarter and added two more within the first 2:09 of the fourth. His first 3 pulled the Knicks within 74-72 and his last gave the Knicks a 90-82 lead.
Antawn Jamison had 23 points and 10 rebounds and top overall pick Kyrie Irving had 22 points and seven assists for the Cavaliers, who scored just 42 points in the second half. The Cavaliers’ other three starters combined for 18 points.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Amar'e Stoudemire had 14 points as the Knicks placed seven scorers in double figures. … The Cavaliers fell to 3-6 on the second night of a back-to-back. … Baron Davis had four points and eight assists for the Knicks in his first appearance against his former team. Davis was traded to the Cavaliers last season and waived during training camp this season.
