Recap

THUNDER 100, LAKERS 85
: Kevin Durant had 33 points and Oklahoma City cruised past visiting Los Angeles and into the All-Star break with their 12th consecutive home victory.

The Thunder (27-7) are an NBA-best 15-1 at home and are tied with Miami for the best record in the league.

Durant will be an All-Star starter in Orlando and showed why with a myriad of moves against the Lakers. He also had six rebounds, four assists and three steals.

He will be joined by Russell Westbrook, who had 19 points, six assists and five rebounds Thursday night.

Kobe Bryant, headed to his 14th All-Star Game, led the Lakers (20-14) with 24 points, but was erratic and shot 7 of 24.

Pau Gasol had 22 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Bynum, who will play in his first All-Star Game, had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Metta World Peace made a season-high three 3-pointers.

The Lakers seemed a step behind the Thunder and had no business trying to run with them as they were outscored 21-6 on fast-break points.

Oklahoma City took a 46-43 lead at halftime by scoring five points in under a second. Westbrook drained a 3-pointer and Durant made a jumper after stealing an inbounds pass.

Durant scored nine in the third quarter as the Thunder built a 73-62 lead and never let the Lakers back in the game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Thunder head coach Scott Brooks will also be participating in the mid-season showcase. ... World Peace reached 1,500 career steals with his two in the first half. ... Steve Kerr, former NBA player and now an analyst for TNT, concurs with most people in that Oklahoma City is the best team in the Western Conference. "I think the interesting thing is, come playoff time, will that translate all the way through?" he said."Progress this season means getting to the NBA Finals." ... Oklahoma City scored 46 points in the first half, 26 less than it did in the first half against Boston on Wednesday.
