LAKERS 103, TRAIL BLAZERS 92: Kobe Bryant scored 28 points and Andrew Bynum had 14 points and 19 rebounds as host Los Angeles scored 37 of the game's first 44 points.

Just a night after suffering a lopsided loss at Phoenix, the Lakers jumped to a 29-7 lead after one quarter. The seven first-quarter points were a franchise low for the Trail Blazers (17-16) in the opening period.

Pau Gasol, whom the Lakers said they will still consider trading, had 16 points and 12 rebounds. Former Blazer Steve Blake scored 17 off the bench and was 5 of 6 on 3-pointers.

Nicolas Batum led the Trail Blazers with 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and four blocks. LaMarcus Aldridge had 18 points and eight rebounds. Reserve Jamal Crawford had 15 points and five assists. Marcus Camby grabbed 13 boards, but Portland lost the rebounding edge 51-37.

The Lakers (19-13) improved to 14-2 at home and have won eight of nine over Portland at Staples Center.

After their dubious start, the Blazers came back to match the Lakers with 23 points in the second quarter, and still trailed 52-30 at halftime. Blake led the Lakers with 14 points at halftime, making all four of his 3-pointers. Batum had 12 points in the second quarter.

Portland scored 36 points in the third quarter and drew to 80-66. Portland stayed close behind six 3-pointers in the quarter.

But the Trail Blazers, who have lost four of six, could not recover from the huge deficit and fell to 5-11 on the road.

Portland center Greg Oden had his third microfracture surgery on his left knee Monday in Vail, Colo., ending his season again. This is Oden's third microfracture surgery. ... Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak addressed Bryant's desire for management to decide if it would trade Gasol. "As general manager of the Lakers, I have a responsibility to ownership, our fans and the players on this team to actively pursue opportunities to improve the team for this season and seasons to come," Kupchak said in a statement. "To say publicly that we would not do this would serve no purpose and put us at a competitive disadvantage." The NBA trade deadline is March 15. ... The Blazers were only 3 of 17 from the field in the first quarter, yet shot the same as the Lakers from 3-point range (1 of 4).
