Rockets leading scorer Kevin Martin, who broke out of his recent funk with 28 points at Golden State on Sunday, was held scoreless for the first time this season.

Gay had 12 second-quarter points help Memphis stretch its lead to double figures and take a 52-43 lead at halftime.

The Grizzlies, getting 11 points from Gasol in the third quarter, extended the nine-point halftime lead to 15 en route to closing within one game of Houston in the Southwest Division.
