Recap
Andrew Bynum's tip-in with 1:29 remaining gave the Los Angeles Lakers an 88-87 overtime win over the host Boston Celtics on Thursday night.
The win broke the Lakers' two-game losing streak and was just their fourth road victory in 13 contests. The loss ended the Celtics' five-game winning streak.
Kobe Bryant led Los Angeles with 27 points while Pau Gasol added 25. Ray Allen paced Boston with 22 points and Paul Pierce added 18.
The game was tied 82-82 going into overtime. Baskets by Bryant and Steve Blake gave the Lakers a four-point lead. Pierce followed with a jumper and a 3-pointer that put Boston ahead 87-86. Bynum tipped in Bryant's miss to give the Lakers a one-point lead.
The Celtics failed to score on their last possession as Pierce missed a jumper and Allen's rebound attempt was short at the buzzer.
Bynum's three-point play with 2:30 remaining in regulation gave the Lakers an 80-79 lead. Allen's 3-pointer with 1:09 left put Boston ahead 82-80.
After both teams missed on their following possessions, Bryant's shot from the baseline bounced off the rim, but Gasol tipped it in with 9.8 seconds left.
Los Angeles is 2-2 on its six-game road trip, which also has stops in New York and Toronto.
