Recap
Steve Nash had a perfect night from the field en route to a 17-point, nine-assist performance as the host Phoenix Suns matched a season high in scoring, cruising past the Portland Trail Blazers 102-77 Friday night.
Nash made all seven of his shot attempts - including a pair from 3-point range - before sitting out the entire fourth quarter with the game well in hand. It was the best outing so far for the Canadian point guard, who came in shooting just 42.2 percent through the first six games.
Already up by a comfortable margin entering the second half, the Suns stretched their advantage to 20 on a Nash 3-pointer just before the midway point of the third quarter. Phoenix remained in control for the remainder of the period and led 74-55 entering the fourth.
Portland didn't get within 18 points the rest of the way as it failed to reach the 100-point plateau for just the second time.
Jared Dudley had a season-high 18 points for the Suns.
LaMarcus Aldridge countered with 14 for Portland. The rest of the starting five combined for just 21 points on 6-for-21 shooting.
The first half couldn't have gone much worse for the Trail Blazers. They shot just 12 of 43 from the field and 1 of 10 from 3-point range to find themselves down 49-34 at the break.
