Recap
Derrick Rose had 21 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds as the Chicago Bulls extended their winning streak to six with a 97-83 triumph over the host Orlando Magic on Friday night.
Rose struggled from the field - hitting just 7-of-18 shots - but helped out in other areas, adding two steals and a block while going 6-of-7 from the free-throw line.
Trailing by 11 entering the fourth quarter, the Magic battled back to make it a four-point game on a pair of Glen Davis free throws with 9:07 remaining. Kyle Korver stemmed the tide for Chicago with a 3-pointer, and added another 3 just past the midway point of the quarter as the Bulls built it back up to 86-77.
Chicago extended the lead to 12 on a Carlos Boozer 16-foot jumper with 2:13 remaining. Luol Deng had 21 points, while Boozer added 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Bulls.
Dwight Howard led the way with 28 points and 15 rebounds for the Magic, who shot 40 percent and surrendered 17 turnovers in defeat.
The Bulls couldn't stop Howard early - he had 16 points in the opening half - but they did a good job on everyone else, holding the Magic below 40 percent shooting to enjoy a 53-43 edge at the break. Chicago went up by as many as 17 before Orlando battled back, hitting 3s on three consecutive possessions to find itself trailing 73-62 after three.
