Wesley Matthews scored 25 points and Raymond Felton 23 as the Portland Trail Blazers stayed unbeaten with a 111-102 victory over the visiting Denver Nuggets on Thursday night.
Portland started 3-0 for the second consecutive season as Matthews made five 3-pointers. Felton also had six assists and five rebounds.
Reserve Jamal Crawford scored 22 and made all nine of his free throws. Marcus Camby had 12 rebounds.
Denver was led by Ty Lawson's 25 points and eight steals. Arron Afflalo scored 19.
The Nuggets (2-1) have lost four in a row in Portland. Denver was just 4 of 20 on 3-pointers.
Matthews made four consecutive 3-pointers in the third quarter to help the Trail Blazers go up by as much as eight.
Lawson helped the Nuggets in myriad ways early in the fourth with three steals, a driving layup and two assists.
In the end, Matthews provided the edge, including a steal that led to Felton's 3-pointer with 1:45 remaining for a 107-100 Portland lead.
