Recap

Richard Jefferson scored 18 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter and Tim Duncan chipped in 25 points and 17 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs outlasted the host Phoenix Suns 112-110 Wednesday.

Manu Ginobili added 18 points and Tony Parker finished with 11 points and six assists for the Spurs, who were swept by the Suns in the playoffs last season.

Jefferson buried three 3-pointers in a row to give the Spurs a 103-97 edge with 6:13 to play before the Suns stormed back, going on a 9-0 run to retake the lead.

Antonio McDyess hit a pair of free throws with 2:01 to play and Jefferson nailed another 3-pointer to put San Antonio up for good at the 1:38 mark.

As he did last post-season, Duncan exposed the Suns' lack of interior defense. With Amare Stoudemire leaving in free agency, Phoenix is using a series of undersized small forwards to play in the front court alongside center Robin Lopez.
