Zach Randolph had 23 points and 11 rebounds and hit the go-ahead basket as the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the visiting San Antonio Spurs 111-104 on Sunday.

Tony Allen also scored 23 points on 9-of-10 shooting and O.J. Mayo added 17 points for Memphis (41-33), which  moved 2 1/2 games ahead of Houston in the race for the final Western Conference playoff spot.

Allen had five steals for Memphis, which also received 12 points from Mike Conley.

George Hill matched his career high with 30 points for San Antonio (57-16), which has lost three straight games for the first time this season. Tony Parker scored 20 points and Richard Jefferson added 13 for San Antonio.

Randolph’s basket with 2:18 to play gave Memphis the lead for good, as the Grizzlies outscored the Spurs 22-10 over the final six-plus minutes.

Spurs guard Manu Ginobili had just two points in 19 minutes and left the contest with a knee injury. San Antonio also was without injured forward Tim Duncan (ankle) for the third straight game.

Memphis led 81-75 after Allen’s 3-pointer with 30 seconds left in the third quarter. But San Antonio scored 15 of the next 18 points with DeJuan Blair’s layup giving the Spurs a 90-84 lead with 7:37 remaining. Hill hit two free throws to make it 94-89 with 6:13 left before Memphis controlled the rest of the contest.
