Luis Scola’s jump hook brought Houston to within 90-89 with 5:25 left, but the Nuggets put the game way with a 9-0 run, capped by Harrington’s put back basket.
Nene had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Nuggets (2-1), who finished the game with a 17-5 run.

The second quarter featured eight lead changes as the Rockets led 51-48 at halftime.
Scola finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds, and Kevin Martin scored 21 for the Rockets (0-3). Martin is 30 for 30 from the free-throw line this season.
