Recap

Dwight Howard had 20 points and 12 rebounds and Jameer Nelson also registered a double-double as the Orlando Magic routed the visiting Phoenix Suns 105-89 on Thursday.

Howard made 8-of-9 field-goal attempts and Nelson had 15 points and 12 assists as Orlando (8-3) won its third consecutive contest.

Phoenix (6-6) was without star point guard Steve Nash, who sat out with a groin injury.

Grant Hill scored a game-high 21 on 8-of-9 shooting for the Suns.

Orlando shot 60 percent in the first half while opening up a 62-34 halftime advantage. The Magic led by 32 points entering the final quarter.

Quentin Richardson added 15 points for Orlando. Vince Carter and Rashard Lewis scored 13 apiece.

Earl Clark added 14 points for the Suns.

Goran Dragic started in Nash’s place and committed six turnovers in 27 minutes. Dragic had 10 points and four assists.

The Suns elected to rest Nash because they were playing for the fourth time in five nights. Nash is expected to be back in the lineup for Saturday’s game at Charlotte.
