Recap

Jason Terry collected 18 points and 11 assists and Dirk Nowitzki scored 19 on 8-of-11 shooting as the Dallas Mavericks pulled away from the Atlanta Hawks en route to a 102-91 victory on Saturday.

Brendan Haywood scored seven of his 10 points in the fourth quarter and Jason Kidd chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds for the Mavericks, who have won four straight.

The Hawks were clinging to a 78-77 lead at the end of the third quarter after DeShawn Stevenson knocked down a 3-pointer to pull Dallas within a basket. The Mavericks quickly turned things in their favor in the fourth, opening the frame with a 14-1 burst highlighted when Nowitzki grabbed a defensive rebound and raced down the other way before pulling up and draining a 3-pointer.

Joe Johnson attempted to get Atlanta back into it all by himself, scoring five straight points to cut it to 93-87 with 4:52 left. But Nowitzki knocked down two free throws and Kidd hit a 3-pointer to push it back to double digits.

Johnson finished with 27 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Hawks, who went 4 of 20 from beyond the arc.
