Dwight Howard had a dominating performance with 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Orlando Magic to a 93-89 victory over the visiting Atlanta Hawks on Monday.
Vince Carter added 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting as the Magic (5-1) won their fourth consecutive contest despite shooting just 43 percent from the field, including 4-of-22 from 3-point range.
Howard made 10-of-20 shots and collected his fourth double-double of the campaign.
The loss was the second in a row for Atlanta (6-2), which got 23 points from Joe Johnson and 16 from Al Horford. Jamal Crawford scored 14 points and Josh Smith added 13 and 13 rebounds.
Orlando played without point guard Jameer Nelson (ankle) for the second consecutive contest. Forward Marvin Williams missed his third straight game for Atlanta.
