Kevin Love and Michael Beasley posted double-doubles and Luke Ridnour had a solid game against his former team, leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to their first win of the season, a 96-85 home victory against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday at Target Center.
Beasley scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Love added 17 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Timberwolves, who pulled away in the second quarter for a 55-46 halftime advantage and led the rest of the way.
Ridnour, who played the past two seasons with the Bucks, scored 13 points with seven assists and six rebounds, and rookie Wesley Johnson added 12 points off the bench for Minnesota.
Led by Love and Beasley, Minnesota (1-1) dominated on the glass, grabbing 62 rebounds to Milwaukee's 39.
Corey Maggette scored a game-high 23 points off the bench for Milwaukee (0-2), which shot 35.6 percent from the field and 15 percent from 3-point range.
Brandon Jennings added 14 points and seven assists for the Bucks, and Drew Gooden had 12 points. Andrew Bogut narrowly missed a double-double with eight points and 10 rebounds.
